Shepherd / Husky / Mixed Dog

Amy the Dog needs a home

Amy, Spayed, 1 year old, 31 Lbs.
Breed: Shepherd/ Husky Mix

Amy doesn’t have a home. She grew up under a bridge since she was a puppy. A homeless lady use Amy and her sibling as a source of income by claiming she was taking care of the puppies, so people who loves animals will constantly donation food and money to this homeless lady. Majority of times the puppies were locked in a donated cage near by the homeless lady shelter. They never had proper care and regular meals. Some of them even died of starvation or illness. When the puppies grew older, they would soon be poisoned to death by neither the homeless lady nor the nearby farmers, just because the puppies were full grown and were no longer cute and lovable to attract people’s attention.

When Amy was about 7 months old, the homeless lady was getting ready to poison her, a rescuer found out about it, she rushed to the bridge, had a big argument with the homeless lady to save Amy out of the tragedy. The rescuer placed Amy in a foster care for behavior evaluation and housetraining. Amazingly Amy is a very gentle, active, affectionate dog and she loves to cuddle. Amy is a smart girl. She learns commends quickly and already knew ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘go’ and ‘kiss’. She gets along with other dogs very well, likes to be around with people like a little sidekick. Amy adjusts and behaves nicely in a new environment, she might be shy for a short while, allow her to get to know you better and she will open up pretty quickly. Amy is a little afraid of young children’s overwhelmed sudden pets and hugs but with no sign of any aggression. If a friendly young child gives her some delicious treats to make friends, Amy will be happy and show her friendliness with a mellow manner. A sweet and charming pup like Amy can make a very good family companion. Please visit www.ahan.org to view Amy’s videos, click “apply”, it will link to a page to bring you and Amy together soon.
